Bekro Candle Color/Dye, Orange

We recommend using Bekro dye at 0.2%, so 10g bag will colour approximately 5kg of paraffin wax. Use at 1g per kg of wax for lighter shades. Soy and other vegetable waxes may require a higher concentration to achieve deep colour. The image shows an approximation of the dye colours when used in paraffin wax.

Actual colours will vary with the wax and additives used. We encourage testing and experimentation to make sure you get the colour you are happy with. Some dyes will not look the expected colour when you receive them as they’re so concentrated they will change to the desired colour once mixed with wax.

How to use:

These eco-friendly, non-toxic dyes are highly concentrated, easy to work with and provide a great depth of colour. The dye is very simply added and stirred into the molten wax and dissipates evenly throughout the wax providing the consistency required. The result is a candle with a colouration no different to those which are professionally produced. Different coloured dyes can be mixed into the wax to create composite colours, allowing you to experiment with your creative skills to produce candles to fit perfectly into the aesthetics of any room; matching or complimenting the colour of walls, furniture, curtains, cushions, carpeting.

With Bekro dyes, a little does really go a long way! You should only need 0.2% concentration of dye to wax, that means that if you want to colour 1kg of wax you would only need two grams of dye! 10g bag would colour 5kg of wax. This is based on it been used in paraffin wax and natural waxes may need a higher percentage of dye to wax. Due to natural waxes creamy natural appearance, the shade you will achieve in natural wax would be paler.

You should be adding your dye to wax at around 70°C.
